Southern-Style Baked Banana Pudding

Instructions
Separate eggs, whisking the yolks with sugar, salt, flour, and milk in a saucepan over medium heat until the custard thickens. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, banana liqueur, and butter. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and toss banana slices with lemon juice. In a baking dish, alternate layers of custard, vanilla wafers, and bananas. Beat the egg whites with cream of tartar and sugar until stiff peaks form, then spread the meringue over the pudding. Bake for 7 to 10 minutes until golden brown and serve either warm or chilled.
