Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon white sugar, 1 teaspoon baking powder, ½ cup butter, 2 tablespoons heavy cream, 1 egg, 2 ½ cups pitted and sliced plums, ½ cup heavy cream, ½ cup white sugar, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). In a large bowl, whisk together flour, 1 tablespoon sugar, and baking powder, then cut in butter until crumbly. Stir in 2 tablespoons whipping cream and 1 egg before pressing the dough into an ungreased 9-inch square pan and topping with plums. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. In a separate bowl, mix 1/2 cup whipping cream, 1/2 cup sugar, vanilla, and another egg. Pour this mixture over the plums and bake for 20 to 30 minutes more until the custard is set. Serve warm or chilled and store in the refrigerator.
