Single Crust Peach Pie
Ingredients
¾ cup white sugar, 2 tablespoons butter, softened, ⅓ cup all-purpose flour, ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg, 6 fresh peaches - pitted, skinned, and sliced, 1 recipe pastry for a 9 inch single crust pie
Instructions
Beat together the butter and sugar until creamy. Stir in the flour and nutmeg until the mixture is crumbly. Place half of the crumbs into the pie crust and layer the peaches on top. Cover the peaches with the remaining crumb mixture. Bake at 450 degrees F (230 degrees C) for 10 minutes, then lower the heat to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and bake for 40 more minutes until golden.
