Gramma's Apple Bread Pudding
Ingredients
4 cups soft bread cubes, 2 cups peeled and sliced apples, ¼ cup raisins, 1 ¾ cups milk, 1 cup brown sugar, ¼ cup margarine, 2 large eggs, beaten, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease a 7x11-inch baking dish. In a large bowl, toss together bread, apples, and raisins. Melt margarine with brown sugar and milk in a saucepan, then stir into the bread mixture and transfer to the prepared dish. Whisk eggs, cinnamon, and vanilla together before pouring the mixture over the bread. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes until set. For the sauce, boil milk, margarine, and both sugars in a saucepan, then stir in vanilla and serve warm over the bread pudding.
