Ingredients

½ cup shortening, 1 cup white sugar, 1 egg, ½ teaspoon vanilla extract, 2 cups all-purpose flour, ½ teaspoon baking soda, ½ teaspoon baking powder, ¼ teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon ground cloves, ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg, 1 cup raisins, 1 cup chopped walnuts, ¼ teaspoon salt, 1 cup persimmon pulp

Instructions

Set the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Begin by creaming the shortening and sugar, then mix in the egg and vanilla. Sift the flour, baking soda, baking powder, 1/4 teaspoon salt, and spices together before stirring them into the creamed mixture. Incorporate the persimmon pulp, raisins, nuts, and another 1/4 teaspoon of salt. Drop spoonfuls of the batter onto a prepared cookie sheet and bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Move to a wire rack to cool.
