Recipe Fig and Rosemary Cranberry Sauce

Fig and Rosemary Cranberry Sauce
Ingredients
1 cup water, 1 cup dark brown sugar, 2 teaspoons maple extract, 1 (12 ounce) package fresh cranberries, 10 dried Mission figs, chopped, 1 (5 inch) fresh rosemary sprig
Instructions
In a non-reactive saucepan, combine water, brown sugar, and maple extract and bring to a boil. Stir in the cranberries and figs, cooking over medium heat for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens slightly. Add a rosemary sprig and continue cooking for another 5 minutes until the sauce has thickened further. Discard the rosemary, take the pot off the heat, and let it cool for 10 minutes. Transfer the sauce to a bowl and chill in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve.
