Ingredients

2 ½ cups ground cherries, ½ cup packed brown sugar, 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour, 2 tablespoons water, 1 (9 inch) pie shell, 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour, 3 tablespoons white sugar, 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Clean the ground cherries and place them into an unbaked pie shell. Combine brown sugar with 1 tablespoon of flour and sprinkle this over the fruit, then lightly sprinkle with water. In a separate bowl, mix 3 tablespoons of flour and 3 tablespoons of sugar, cutting in butter until the mixture is crumbly. Spread the crumbs over the cherries and bake for 15 minutes. Lower the temperature to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) and continue baking for an additional 25 minutes.
