Ingredients

1 large red apple, cored and very thinly sliced, ¼ cup white sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed, ¼ cup melted butter, 1 large egg, 2 teaspoons water, 1 teaspoon confectioners' sugar (Optional)

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and prepare two ramekins with butter and sugar. Microwave apple slices for 45 seconds until soft, then cover and set aside. Roll out puff pastry, cut into two rectangles, and brush with melted butter and cinnamon-sugar. Arrange apple slices along the edge, fold the pastry over, brush with egg wash, and roll into a rose shape. Bake the roses in ramekins for 45 minutes until browned, then cool and dust with confectioners' sugar.
