Ingredients

2 tablespoons lemon juice, 4 cups water, 4 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and sliced, 2 tablespoons butter, 1 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, 1 tablespoon water, 1 (17.25 ounce) package frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed, 1 cup confectioners' sugar, 1 tablespoon milk, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Combine lemon and water in a bowl; soak sliced apples to prevent browning. Melt butter in a skillet, add drained apples, and cook for 2 minutes. Stir in brown sugar and cinnamon, cooking for 2 more minutes. Mix cornstarch with water, add to the skillet, and cook until the sauce thickens; let cool. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Cut puff pastry into small squares, fill each with apples, fold into triangles, and seal the edges. Bake for 25 minutes until golden. Once cooled, whisk together confectioners' sugar, milk, and vanilla, then drizzle the glaze over the turnovers.
