Applesauce Pork Chops
Ingredients
1 tablespoon butter, 1 apple - peeled, cored, and sliced, ¼ cup chopped onion, 2 (1/2-inch thick) pork chops, ½ teaspoon salt, ground black pepper to taste, ¾ cup applesauce, 2 tablespoons brown sugar, ½ teaspoon ground mustard, ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Sauté sliced apple and onion in butter until tender, then set aside. Brown pork chops in the same skillet for 5 minutes per side, then transfer them to a 9x9-inch baking dish and season with salt and pepper. Combine the apple mixture with applesauce, brown sugar, mustard, and cinnamon before spooning it over the chops. Bake covered for 30 to 45 minutes until the pork is no longer pink and reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees F (63 degrees C).
