French Pear Pie
Ingredients
6 large pears, peeled and sliced, 1 lemon, juiced, ⅔ cup white sugar, ½ teaspoon grated nutmeg, 1 (9 inch) unbaked single pie crust, ½ cup butter, ½ cup brown sugar, 1 cup all-purpose flour
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). In a bowl, toss the pears with lemon juice, then thoroughly mix in a blend of white sugar and nutmeg. Line a 9-inch pie dish with the crust. Using a pastry cutter, combine butter, brown sugar, and flour until the mixture turns into crumbs. Fill the pie shell with the pear mixture and even spread the crumble topping over it. Bake for 10 minutes at 450 degrees F, then lower the temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and continue baking for 35 minutes until the filling is bubbling and the topping is golden brown.
