Ingredients

¾ cup white sugar, ½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature , 2 large eggs, 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking powder, 1 pinch salt, 12 medium Italian plums, halved and pitted, 1 ½ tablespoons cinnamon sugar, or to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and grease a 10-inch springform pan. Cream together the sugar and butter in a large bowl with an electric mixer until light. Add the eggs individually, beating well after each. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt, then sift over the butter mixture and combine. Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Arrange plum halves on top, cut-side up, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Bake on the bottom rack for 40 to 50 minutes until a tester comes out clean. Serve warm or at room temperature.
