Grandma's Peach Cobbler
Ingredients
¾ cup unsalted butter, softened, 1 (15 ounce) can peaches in heavy syrup, 1 ½ cups white sugar, divided, ½ cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg, ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract, 1 cup milk, 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 tablespoon baking powder, 1 pinch salt
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Place 1/2 cup of butter into a casserole dish and melt it in the oven while it preheats. In a medium bowl, combine peaches with 1/4 cup of butter, 1/2 cup of white sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla, then spread this mixture evenly over the melted butter. Prepare a smooth batter by mixing the remaining 1 cup of white sugar, milk, flour, baking powder, and salt, then pour it over the peaches. Bake for approximately 45 minutes until the top is golden brown and allow it to sit for 10 minutes before serving.
